Description:

A 35 dunam complex, that includes residential buildings, integrating commercial spaces and public spaces, alongside public buildings, and open public areas. 45O residential units, 62,OOO sqm (gfa). The project redesigns the city center as a 'multi-focal' area, that can facilitate a rich and diverse array of urban activities. The masterplan revolves around the city's historic commercial street, reinforcing its role as a vibrant and central public space. This goal is achieved by strategically defining three urban squares along the street, each with its distinct character - the city square, the culture square, and the commercial square - and introducing a continuous ‘active façade’ along the street and the squares. These elements form the backbone for the new urban structure. This continuous space is defined by three blocks that encompass a variety of mixed-use buildings, including residential, commercial, and public spaces. Each block is designed around a public garden, creating a second layer of public areas that seamlessly connect to the streets and urban squares. The multi-layered public space is a continuous and versatile ‘urban vessel’, encouraging a diverse range of activities, creating the liveliness and intensity that characterizes city life.
