A 9-story residential building. 54 residential units. Urban renewal projects often involve multiple stakeholders, and diverse programmatic requirements. These can lead to a variety of floor layouts, in a single building. The façade design in the project was born out of the need for flexibility. The building’s external envelope includes a system of wooden "fins". The fins are arranged in an irregular pattern that can accommodate variations in the programmatic requirements, such as a different number of apartments on each floor, or balconies facing different directions, while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic, and a unique appearance.
